Architect:
Roy Design
Completion:
2007
Description:
Of the numerous high-profile residential developments spurred by the transformation of the High Line’s railroad viaduct into a linear park, High Line 519 crossed the checker flag first. A narrow site confronted Lindy Roy in her design for the 11-story building where the façade layers perforated embossed stainless steel balustrades in amorphous, semi-continuous shapes across the glass front. At the rear similar panels act as guardrails for balconies projecting like drawers from the slender building.
