Description:
This new addition to the mid-town skyline, also known as the Bank of America Tower, was completed in 2008 and stands as New York City's second-tallest building. Notable features include the angled exterior on the upper floors that accentuate its height, as does its spire. The shaded glass on each floor gives this massive structure an unexpected soft, translucent feel. The building executes a balanced transition from the lively, angular buildings in Time Square on the west, to the the the staid, corporate monoliths aligned up Sixth Avenue. Excellent views are available across the street from Bryant Park, behind the main building of the New York City Library.
