40 Bond Street

Page history last edited by Steven 1 mo ago

Architect:

Herzog & De Meuron

Completion:

2007

Description:

This is an 11-story, residential building that combines ground-floor townhomes with upper level condominiums. The building grid is covered with curved, green glass that simultaneously complements and contrasts with the rhythms of the traditional facades on either side. At street level,  unique "graffitti" grillwork protects the entrances to the townhomes, and its swirling pattern is echoed in the green-metal cladding of the first floor.
